Darknight Fabulous EP from the fantastic hard rockin Orbiter, all four songs have cleverly written melodies and real catchy riffs. FFO Torche, Greenleaf and Helmet. Favorite track: Hell Mates.

CJ Fischer Love this Band…very sludgy with moments of hard rock borderline metal melody, smart written songs. Solid heavy tones and distortion and some surprising beautiful Melodie’s. A must listen if you enjoy bands like Touché.

Head Wounds 05:20
Your hope is bringing me down Love is as strange as it sounds When you wake up, consume make up You wear your leather and your crown The harpoon hits without a sound Your head hangs heavy and wounded now It’s no secret, you suffer deeply The lights go off, and the savior drowns You wash away, the dirt of days, your song is over and your sober now You start again, with another round, the dance has ended and we’re older now You wash away
2.
Faraway from the sun, there is a bend in the light. Where diamonds and gold, are easy to find. It’s sad we don’t know we’re all going blind. Eyes like clouds, and days collide. Times of doubt, hold all night. There’s no way out, but I’m alright. Tear out the pages that wore down my weak bitter mind. Take the ones that were once a beautiful lie, and tape them up on the wall, so I can read them for life. Eyes like clouds, and days collide. Times of doubt, hold on tight. There’s no way out, but I’m alright. Faraway from the sun…

Hell Mates 03:55
I stayed awake and watched the sun come up, this can’t be true. If it’s really over, then why I’m still here, you kept me too. I gave you…you…all my love. I gave you…you…all my love. The camel sends me straight to hell, where I wait for you. My bed is empty, and the gates are down, but I’m restless too. I gave you…you…all my love. I gave you…you…all my love. We’re all restless too
4.
We fell in love, on a beach where we first kissed. We talked about our families, and the ones we missed. They played our favorite songs, from the radio it glowed. Oh mi Corazon, I can’t let go. Your ethereal panned grin as the waves they crashed in. We carried on like there could have been… Transmissions from the grave. Transmissions from the grave. Transmissions from the grave. Transmissions from the grave. Hello, goodbye. In the end we all die. But the sound still rings, and the sunlight rains down on you. And the stars sustain, and you realize there was nothing that you could do.

about

Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Jonathan Nuñez (Torche, Jacuzzi Boys, Axis) at Sound Artillery Studios in Miami, ORBITER’s Headwounds is overflowing with heavy riffs – purposeful ones that aren’t heavy just for the sake of it – which are artfully complimented by Jon Reinertsen’s soaring, sung vocals which can’t help but stay with you from the first listen. And the rhythm section is a straight-up hammer; the whole record feels like a relentless pulse, gnarly and gritty guitar and bass tones that for this listener are evocative of bands like Fu Manchu and Kyuss, but with a combo of head-nodding heaviness and melody (similarly to how Page Hamilton was able to coax melodies from chord arrangements where they weren’t obvious) that makes for something beyond catchy. Even though this four-song clocks in at nearly twenty-two minutes, you’re left wanting more when it stops spinning. The heavily personal subject matter elevates this from a listening to an experience. Heartfelt and heavy, this one is a gem.
